Talking Lotus has alot bang for your buck

I am new to the forum, so I would like to say hi to all the lotus people out there. I got a new 06 Elise in march of 06, it had 4 miles on it. It now has a little over 5k on it. Its been great. Its the most fun I have ever had on 4 wheels. Its very fast and handles like a dream. I love it.
I have owned and rebuilt a lot of old cars, from 442's to vett's and this one is my favorite by far. I like to work on my cars to make more power and improve the handling. Does any one have any ideal what improvements work on these car, Like wing or engine mod.

Hey dude,

I have 11000 miles on my 05. This car is my favorite car that I have ever had in my life too! It is the exotic car I have always wanted since I was a kid -- better since it is inexpensive to buy, insure and maintain.

Today my "Engine Malfunction" dash light came on when I first started out today... I think it started after I got gas. I drove home and checked the manual, since the car was running great. I even called my dealer -- said it could even be that the gas cap was not on enough. So I clicked the cap a few times around and started the car and the light went out and has not come on all day. I took a nice 100 mile plus rally up through the mountains of norther AZ on this sunny new years day.

Has the engine light come on and gone off all by itself to you or anybody else on this forum?

Regards,
Anthony

Talking engine light

Hows it going? I have never had any problem with the light ever comming on. The only thing ever gone wrong was my A/C not blowing cold after a while. I have been looking at a supercharger kit and might install it this spring, and the wing. I need do to something with my stereo, its does not have much base. Does yours? My car is solar yellow. What color is yours? Have you done any upgrades to yours?

Hey Plumbing buddy,

It's going good, thanks! The light on my car has not come back on, everything's normal. The car is running great!

My dealer said something about a sub-woofer available for the Elise; that fits under the dash on the driver's side. Too be honest, my sport exhast really overpowers the stock radio. And I usually drive without the top on. I plan to get a better deck and maybe upgrade the speakers. But I like listening to the engine just as much. Still, I would like to get something that plays crystal clear on loud!

I plan to keep my car stock for street use. I think the Exige wing is cool for the Elise; but to be honest, one of my favorite things about the Elise, is the rear deck with the short spoiler. And I would hate to take away from this killer look on my car.

My car is ardent red with tan leather. But yellow with black would be my second choice!

Cheers, Anthony
