Hi all

I'm a TSgt in the US Air Force. I was stationed in England about 45 minutes from Hethel, Norfolk. I fell in love with the Elise and Exige during my time there. It was the 2nd happiest day of my life when I heard Lotus was bringing these wonderful cars to the US. The happiest day of my life was driving off the lot in San Antonio with my very own 2006 Lotus Sport Elise #9 of 50.

Hello Jason,

First, I want to thank you for your US Air Force service. Thanks for being a part of keeping this country safe.

I first fell in love with the Elise back in the late 90s when it was only available in the UK. I've allway admired the Lotus Espirits; and when I discovered the 'Dino' looking and performing Elise -- I was amazed. I wanted to bring one over, but it was not even street legal in the USA.

Last year I bought a 2005 Ardent red Elise with sport exhaust and suspension. The car was a demo that I got fully loaded in my color, for a deal. I just love life with this car or should I say street legal go-kart! People ask me all the time "how much horsepower?" I just laugh. But these same people are impressed with how the car sounds going down the street as much as how it looks!

Yeah I know what you mean; happiness is owning and motoring an Elise.

Best,
Anthony

I know exactly what you mean with the "how much horsepower." I was at the gas pumps the other day and had several admirers. They did the requisite 'what is it?', 'horsepower', and 'how much did it cost?'. All of which I don't mind answering. I enjoy seeing other people admire the car.

Except for one guy who kept spoiling the fun by bragging his mustang had more hp and that I would need a V8 or V6 squeezed in there somewhere to keep up. He didn't believe an I4 190hp could post sub 5 sec 0-60s and would beat his mustang on the track. In the end I popped the lid and showed him the engine then showed him the 0-60 after filling up. All-be-it safely on an unused road. I still try to keep on the cops good side.
