Looking - New or Used

Hi all out there,

I have been looking more and more for my dream elise. Although I cant help but see on autotrader and ebay, a well below sub $40K price range for some used 05's with low miles and starting to see some 06's in the very high 30's or low 40's. Any recommendations from both sides of the new and used fence? Thanks for all your feedback to this great website!

I just purchased an 05 with touring and sport pack, hardtop at 1800 miles for right below 40k. Im thinking I got a OK deal maybe a tad high but I did get the exact color options package I was looking for. This car also has the upgraded shift linkage (strengthened) and all service. If buying an 05 make sure it has had the shifter service done, this would have been under warranty. I wouldnt mind others opinions of my deal, high? low? right on. Very happy with the car, a real blast to drive.

From what I have seen with your mileage and options, and you got what you were looking for in color etc., not too bad at all!

Thanks, I think I did OK, maybe it was the fact the dealer wouldnt move on price, they did give half off on the Starshield though. Having exactly the colors you want is worth a few bucks anyway and the Bently/lotus dealer in San Fran where I found it was very pleasant to deal with. I have to admit this car is kinda like crack, addictive quickly I am very happy with my purchase
