who's Elise?

My first name is Elise. I'm looking for an opportunity to test drive one of these cars. (I live in Pittsburgh PA) Does anyone know where the name came from? Was it named for a real person? I can't think of any other cars that have people names. Have there been any others?

There's an article on the web I just saw this week when Googling Lotus Elise, I believe a review when the car first came out a few years ago. Named for one of the company officers family members. Check out the article in Wikipedia. Must be cool to have a car with your name!

Lots of cars have been named for people. There's Ford, and within that company perhaps most famous was Edsel who was a grandchild
