I have been a fan of "Scotch Guarding" my canvas shoes to protect them for a LONG time, but I finally got around to having a car with a canvas top. I was not wanting to have to use the aerosol products I have used for so long. Between the issues of over spray and that I always end up tossing away 1/2 the aerosol product in the trash as it always clogs the sprayers.
I have been seeing
Detailers Warehouse for some time, and after a warm reception at an Orlando car show I was really interested in finding out their recomendations. In addition to the other products for my Lotus Elise, they suggested I try the 303 cleaner and fabric guard products.
I have had multiple show cars from MINIs, to a classic Mini, to a Shelby Cobra before the Elise, so I am really picky about how my car looks. I had never had to worry about exterior canvas till now. My new top needed no cleaning, so that product I did not get to try, but after one coat of the protectant I think I may never get to try the cleaner. After a trip from Tampa, Florida to Deals Gap North Carolina with one serious stretch in the rain I figured I'd have to reapply. I got out the car wash kit, aimed the hose at the car, and between the serious wax I bought from them, the glass water repellant I use, and yes the 303 protectant, the water bounced off the bonnet, windshield, and top of my car leaving beaded traces behind. This not only endured that, but also after a week of driving non-stop daily the last night of the event I was attending arrived and some folks wanted to get pictures. I feared that my now filthy car was going to look bad so I took the hose and covered the car. The beaded look to every element of the car, especially the top was testament to the choices I have made in products for my car. I am quite happy to have added the 303 line to my car detailing kit and would tell everyone I know to do the same.
