Lotus a "girley" car ???

Check this article (read down) about how UK car companies are chasing the female market and how it Backfired on them with the ladies.
I think it's hot period not matter your
equipment!

But why, for instance, is the Ford Ka the girliest car in the country (69 per cent of purchasers are female), but models directed specifically at them, such as the Lotus Elise or the Ford Focus Elle, leave them cold? If women outnumber men in buying the 4x4 Suzuki Jimny and the sports car Mazda MX-5, why do they universally hate mass-market estates? Designers are so confused that Ford, Volvo, and Land Rover have all installed “women’s panels” of engineers and pollsters to try to incorporate female-friendly features.

Hi Shawn. The guys responsible for the S2 styling Russell Carr and Steve Crijns are quoted as saying that they wanted the car to have a more aggressive and menacing appearance in line with the cars capabilities. Hardly the type of approach designed to attract 'girlies'.

Talking Not a Girley Car?

I just purchased my new Elise about 3 weeks ago & am fully in love! I am female & find the look & performace of the Elise very appealing! I do admit getting some strange reactions to the fact that I purchased the car for myself VS. my husband wanting it. You cannot get more bang for your buck as far as I'm concerned! This car rocks!:D

Has anyone ever considered that women might want to get our attention as well? What I am saying is that a pink car for example would seem like a good choice for a female customer, however we would not be caught dead in one; nor go for a ride!
Remember the Victoria Secret Diablo, hot car but that color ruined it!

why does the author, who is female as well, think the Elise is designed for women. That is hilarious.
