What do you want out of your car?

The BMW is the most comfortable.

The Lotus is raw and pure while the Honda fits in between.

If you're looking for others to tell you what to get, then you probably are leaning away from the Lotus. With the Elise, you either want it or you don't. There's no in between.

Get the Honda or BMW.

If you don't have a dealer and have to order the car from abroad, then I'd pass on the Elise and get the S2000. In many ways, it's similar but you'll have local dealer support.

As far as the AC goes, it is fixed. There were some early problems with it, but not on the new models and the old ones have a waranty fix.

Now you say you don't have a dealer in your area. If you are out of country, forget about it. If you have any waranty work, you're screwed.

Now if you are just worried about a drive to the dealer, that's half the fun.

The elise is the best handling car on the market for the money. Not the most comfortable, not the most practical, just the most fun! That's my 2 cents.

where are you at (country) and if there is not a dealer in your country, where is the nearest dealer at?

In any event, if it's too far away I would stay away from the car, get one that you can get serviced where you are at.

If it is your only car, get the Beemer. If it is a second car--no question, the Lotus is your toy.
