Elise Body Style Changes

I was wondering if anyone had heard of any rumors that the Elise body style would be changing dramatically anytime soon. I was considering purchasing an Elise, but knowing that the present body style has been used in Europe for several years already I anticipate changes will be made to the exterior of the vehicle fairly soon. If this is the case I'd rather wait for the "new" Elise to be released rather than waste money on a new car that is just going to look out of date in a few months. (That's one of my biggest pet peeves)

Cheers,

Lee

Lee,

I can't speak for the far future, but I just attended the LA Auto Show and saw the 2008 Lotus line-up. The body styles are the same. The only real changes I saw were in the new Exige S 240, which has a larger air intake over the cabin roof, and in the "California" edition of the Elise, which has a two-tone interior and a spoiler wrapped over the tail of the car. The base Elise and the base Exige S (220) remain the same.

Best,

Jor

No major changes are planned for the Elise until After the new Esprit is on the road (late 2009/10).

elise

I don't know about any body changes but I recently saw the 40th anniversary lotus elise limited edition on an auto site and it looked great. I love the custom orange paint job on the new lotus.

The new orange is Burnt Orange and is available on any new 08 including those headed to the US. It is a $3,300 option.
