I've got size 13 hooves as well, and am a little concerned about the small size of the Elise's cockpit, as well as the pedal layout. I imagine that with a 13 foot, you're not exactly 5'2". How was the rest of the interior fit for you? One of the reviews I read said that the car should be comfortable for anyone up to 6'3". I'm 6'4", so I'm thinking if I amputate my feet, this will eliminate most of my potential problems with the car. ;)

I'm 6'1" 225lbs and have size 13 feet. I've driven a federalized Elise a few times and have experience the same problem. I can't touch the gas without hitting the brake as well. I need to take my shoes off. I'm thinking that I will need to modify the center divider that separates the drivers and passengers foot wells for more clearance.

I wear my driving shoes(sparco) to work every day of the week, I sell PORSCHE. Tough job but someone has to demo GT3's.
I wear size 12 and with driving shoes on the Elise pedals are just fine. If I had to though I would remove the center divider as well. It is nice to have it when shuffling back and forth at the track though.

Re: Not to join in on the gloating
I am size 11.5 and i just cannot clear the brake pedal with regualr nike shoe.
I guess I have to be being laughed at whenever I got off the car (happened twice already) - I have to put my shoe on the ground before I get off the car.
Until my driving shoes are here... can't wait.

I either wear Puma Speedcats or dress shoes.
Regular sneakers are way too wide.

Size 14 boys
I am 6'-3" and wear a size 14 shoe. I have plenty of headroom in the Elise. Your right, Nike shoes wont fit between the brake and the center console. I got a pair of Oakley 1320 Race/Pit shoes, they are extremely narrow and work great. Now I can use the throttle AND the dead pedal easily. The worst part now is that my waist hits the edge of the seat and can start to be annoying if driving for long periods.....and I am not fat!

I'm 6' 195lbs with sizes 10's. Forget sneakers or sandals for that matter. I use snug-fitting slip on loafers whose leather soles are no wider than the shoe. Good grip and they allow you to slide from pedal to pedal.
I squished my 6' 7'' friend into the passenger seat the other day.
He was not comfortable. If you're over 6' 3", it's just too small for you.

I've also got some Oakley 1320 shoes, and am super happy with them.
I tried some Asics Tai-Chi shoes, but just didn't think they were that comfortable.
Just my $.02.
