Ghost Buyers??

What % of buyers currently on dealer list do you think will

a) Not Purchase?

b) Purchase from a duplicate deposit at a different dealership?

I bet the total would be about 30% which makes me feel a lot better about my #. Of course I would say anyone in the top third of the list is probably a hardcore buyer and the number is probably less while the bottom two thirds of the list the figure will probably be higher.

I am still not 100% sure if I am going to purchase, we will see how this years bonus goes, unless of course any wealthy guys on here have good looking daughters!!

Cheers,
Brad

Unfortunately, I would not count on people dropping off the list to move you up. I’ve seen a few dealers using some of the “ghost spots” (as you call them) as places to “fit in” people who are willing to pay a premium to get an earlier spot in line.

If you have a spot on the list it would be nice to have the dealer move you up but it’s not a guarantee.

I’d also venture a guess that the drop-offs in the early months will be slim they will happen but I’d guess the actual spots that are abandoned will be close to 10%.

Isn't the Fox Valley dealership offering one now for a mere $57,000?

I don't know why any other dealership would sell their selection of Elises to another dealer...either Fox Valley is BS and they are just selling the cars they have recieved, or they have a kickback agreement with the dealer in Florida where they are splitting the proceeds or Fox Valley pays $8,000 over sticker and then tries to sell for $16,000 over MSRP.

But in that case the Florida dealer would be much better off selling the car for $8,000 over sticker and avoiding the transporation cost.

I am sure all the dealers will be scamming in another six weeks when deliveries really pick up. In that case we need to be on top of our dealer ratings!!
