Lotus Elise: First wave should arrive this week

Time to start keeping those eyes peeled, as cars should be getting to dealers this week (knock on wood).

Cars have been in port for a little while being prepped and awaiting enough stock to deliver cars to each dealer. Due to some supply issues as some cars may have been built sooner than others (that is #1 on a list may be slightly delayed depending on supply of options the car was speced with), but future delays should be limited.

Start to get excited!

My dealership, Classic Autos in Eastchester, has it's frst car in. Safron Yellow. Looks Beautiful. They tell me it is a customer's car and that they have not gotten their Demo Car in yet. Can't wait to test drive one.

I stopped by Hunting Ridge Motors in Greenwich, CT tonite and they got their first Elise in yesterday.

Looks like the floodgates should start opening!!!!

I'm test driving a demo on Saturday, my deposit is in, but I've got at least a year's wait...

I wouldn't get TOO excited about the quantity of cars coming in yet...I'm guessing it's still gonna trickle for awhile.

Lotus has never been known for it's skill in distribution or hitting deadlines, self imposed or otherwise. Patience is ALWAYS a virtue in the Lotus world.

Kusheen, where are you going to get the Demo? Hunting Ridge implied they wouldn't have a car to Demo for some time since they wanted to fill customers' orders first.

BTW, I know all about patience. I'm #41 and don't expect one for at least a year from now. I just get a little excited seeing them in person on US soil.

Just heard that the West Coast deliveries at Long Beach will be delayed 7+ days due to ships from China offloading right now. I'm number 4 or 6 at Newport European. Don't ask about the 4 or 6, this is a sore subject.

My offload date was July 31 and now maybe August 7th. Plus 1 week for customs and 1 week for horsing around in San Diego. So pickup at dealer maybe the 3rd week of August.
