'Trasko' Response To Tech.Questions

Q- Since eng. has oil filter on side-block,
away from air flow, will this cause a heat sink for eng. heat going into oil.
A- Yes, but our 36 fin design does help
the cooling.
Q-How much particulate can it filter @ 1/10th micron level before element gets blinded by small paritcles? Concerned that once the bypass opens, filtration will go to zero.
A-Bypass opens after 80 psi. Even after
opening, it lets oil flow partially between the range of 8-10 microns. Filtration is never zero. The element gets contaminated (i.e blinded) completely between 8K-10K. A neer engine will be
between 9K-10K. The estimate is 20 g max particulate trapped before next oil change. For some SAE bench tests for flow ratio & single & multi pass tests at the 3 micron range go to - http://www.trasko-usa.com/swtesting.htm.
Q-Isn't it a trade off between filtration depth and flow rates?
A-Trasko Filter is much more than pleated oil filters. First, there are two very fine mesh filters. Then, there's the tissue paper filter. To ensure adequate flow and a constant pressure gradient across the extrememly dense media section, there is a pressure regulator inside the housing. This filter is essentially a full flow filter and partial flow filter combined into a single unit.
Q-How can a membrane filter, within a closed system, trap water molecules & what does it trap them in
A-The water is adsorbed, not absorbed. Moisture is trapped into the bleaching reagent present in the media and becomes an oxide.
Q-Are there studies showing Trasko vs. competitors.
A- In Japan it is against the law to advertise degrading other companies.
Other filters are mentioned as Shunt filters and not by specific name. Our tests are independent and as you can see in the field tests, our superiority is evident. Tests were performed with range of different engines.
