More Power Needed

After two Central America races (finished 2nd and 3rd), we are looking to reduce our lap times (no fun being the first or second loser).

Our car is a 2006 Exige Cup car (purchased new in Switzerland).

We have learned the following:

1. The Pagid (Lotus Sport) pads will overheat and warp the front rotors causing severe brake judder. EBC yellowstuff work MUCH better. Has anyone tried any other racing pads?

2. The stock discs will crack (especially the right front). We are looking at the Sector 111 discs. Has anyone raced them? Has anyone tried the EBC discs (ebcbrakes.com)?

3. The suspension (even on the hardest setting) is too soft (front fenders rubbing). Does anyone know where to get stronger springs for the Ohlins suspension?

4. We are running Rota Slipstream 15x7 and 16x8 wheels (thank you blackwatchracing.com...they are great!) with Hankook Slicks (required by sanctioning body).

For our very brake intensive curvy but flat track, we feel we need the following:

1. More Camber (we have taken all the shims out but and now need some advice on how to get more camber in rear).

2. More power (we have Reverie Daytona Induction kit, Stage 2 Exhaust - not catalyst, rest is stock). We need more power but CAN NOT supercharge or use a turbo. Any ideas?

Your help is appreciated.

Brakes: http://www.ragnorakracing.com/catalo...46/1771464.htm caution advised: a hard stop may pull teeth.

Cams: Monkeywrench and Ragnorak have cams and springs.

Get piper cams, a header, larger throttle body, and remove the rear suspension to machine some material from the upper a arms. Take off a little more than you think you need because you can add shims back. Most Elise/Exige racers are more camber challenged in the front and can get plenty in the rear. Stiffer springs are available from Blackwatch or Sector 111.

Your problem is not uncommon, let me guess the rear tyres are wearing out on the outer edge. Want to fix the problem don't machine the rear camber plates. Thats not the fix, the fix is to work out why it does not have enough camber on the rear and more important than that when does it not have enough camber. Just finnished going through all that and got it sorted. Ran 2 one hour races on the weekend and for the first time ever the tires still look great. Prior to this the rear tires were completely worn out on the outside edges but only a section about two inches wide. (running slicks) With the modifications the our Exige was two seconds quicker in qualifing than the other three Exiges that i also prepared. Only one car had the mod. In qualifing the track temp was 40 degress C which only overheated everones tires which in our case because the tires were working correctly across the whole face they were much more stable in temp and pressure. We also used one set of slicks the whole weekend were as i had to use two sets each for the other three cars. We have to run a Dunlop slick here. Give me an email if this intrests you and bear in mind that i haven't seen your tires so we'll see if i'm right and the lower you make the ride height the worse the rears get.
