Anyone who ordered an Elise without the "clear bra" option will find that the paint chips off quite quickly, especially the leading edge of the rear wheel wells. I was never impressed with the look of the factory installed kits, the surface texture was orange peeled and didn't seem completely clear. I've talked to others about 3M sourced films and was put off by what I learned.
The dealer where our car is serviced (Dimmitt,Florida) told us they offered had a better system than stock. I talked with the reps that install their kits and their claims seemed to be true after inspecting our car after their installation.
The surface profile is undecernable from the paint and is absolutely dead clear. It has a lifetime warranty against yellowing, cracking, bubbling and for gloss and lustre. Like the other systems it is removable without hurting the paint (I witnessed this) and is super tough. Our car is dark and the clarity of the film on it is quite remarkable. Best of all the rock chips stopped!
