OE Protective Pieces

When I picked up my car, in the trunk were a couple of peel/stick clear protective pieces for the lower rear qtr. panel area.

The dealer said they come with the car, and could be installed for about $100 in labor.

I haven't heard much about these, and would be interested in a collective opinion from those that have had them installed:

How do they look? Do they work for chips? How do they compare to the Clear Bra, or other protective systems?

By the way, for those of you wondering whether or not to put something on--DO IT! I'm learning the hard way. After just one trip through the GA/NC mountains, I'm amazed at the damage. I expected a few small chips, but the rocker panel and lower qtr. panel on my car is ABSOLUTELY RUINED. I'm going to have to have these areas repainted before I install some kind of shielding.

Put something on before you drive it off the lot!

sounds like the starshield units, but your thread makes it sound like you don't have SS. the ss does have an area behind the rear wheels, and should have been on already for you (if you had ss).

good luck, sorry to hear of your damage.
