The Exige will be auctioned off to benefit Studio in a School, which brings together young people and professional artists in New York.

Haze is the artist name of Eric Haze. His own logo, a cross between a stick figure and a star, appears on the Lotus. The car?s design is in homage to the late Keith Haring, who was a friend of Eric Haze.

Haze?s design attempts to bring out the dynamic shape of the Lotus Exige.

?It is like Michelangelo, not to compare myself to him, wanting to discover the shape inside the stone,? he said.

We think Haze did a fine job accentuating the Exige?s extraordinary shape.

The creator of Gran Turismo and chief executive of Polyphony Digital, Kazunori Yamauchi, also approves.

In the case of many painted cars, ?the painted image conflicts with the shape of the car,? he said. Haze?s Exige ?at first it looked too simple to me, but the more I looked, the more I liked it. It does not fight the shape.?
