Elise Interior Choices
I have confirmed that the interior colors listed in the Elise Order Guide are just “suggestions”. You may order any interior with any exterior color.
One thing to keep in mind when choosing “unique” color combinations however is that Lotus mocked up each color combo and decided that some colors just didn’t go together and strongly advise against any non-recommended scheme.

I thought their use of the word 'suggested' is the British way of saying 'only'.

I was warned against deviating from the suggested list as some combinations may adversely affect resale value.
They conceded that color choice can be very personal but in Lotus’s opinion some colors really don’t go together.

I agree with Lotus, but when it comes to sports cars in the past I have seen combo's that are never available in other cars. Still, I would think a hefty, up-front deposit would be required if the combo
was really 'out there'.

It's interested to find that the U.S.A. Elise has more power, better equiped & cost less than what we are paying in Hong Kong. My car was end up with modifying to a pure race car cuz it perform much better on the circuit than on the road. Here is a photo of the interior of my car.

I bought this seat from Elise Parts.Com in the UK. Their website is
www.eliseparts.com
The seat made of carbon leather with blue alcantara. It's good for racing cuz I am using a 5 points harness. May be not suitable for road use.

Looks pretty racy, looks like you’ve done a lot to your S2.
I noticed the roll bar brace, did you have a custom roll bar hoop and brace made custom or did you also buy from some shop?

Hi Mason,
The roll hood & petit bar is a Lotus Motorsport parts. They call it the "Roll Cage". I bought it directly from Lotus UK. Most of the Elise owners in HK modify their cars for better handling and increase more power. (our syandard S2 has 122bhp only).

Tom,
How much fabricating was involved with getting the "cage" in? Was it a simple bolt in, (I assume since the chassis is aluminum it would have to be bolted) or did it require a lot of modifications?
With the brace in the passenger seat would be useless but it looks like it can be removed (when not at the track) so that the passenger spot isn’t lost forever?
Thanks for the info,
Mason

So, getting a Krpyton Green with the red interior would be possible? :p
Actually, scary as it may sound, I'm kind of serious.
Mason - have you looked into a Kirk or Autopower 4-pt rollbar, or 6-pt cage? I wouldn't be surprised if they were in development.

Krypton Green is a brave and cool choice, while red is a bit wild, I would order it in the Saffron Yellow/Red. I'm trying to get Yellow/Biscuit ...we'll see when one comes in.

Mason,
The roll cage is bolt on design but it takes almost one day to fit it to the car. The brace in the passenger seat is also bolt on. It can be removed by unscrewing the bolt on each end. The brace actually act as a handle for the passenger in the circuit. You know the G force when driving on the circuit is huge. The pasenger seat will be reinstall & the brace will be removed when the car is used on road.
