Drove my friends Esprit last night!
I drove my friends '02 Chrome Orange Esprit last night! WOW, what a car! The engine really pushes you from behind (first time I drove a mid-engine car). Pretty quick on the tach from 5,000 to 7,000rpm (he hits the rev limiter all the time).
The clutch seemed like it has all of 3.5 - 4 inches of travel. VERY short take-up.
The car rode alot nicer than I expected. I don't know if Lotus detuned the U.S. suspension, but it seemed like it was actually too soft. The body role was more prevelent than I would have liked and the front end washed out badly in hard corners. There was way more grip out back. If the front end could be tightened up a little, the car would work great.
I let him drive my supercharged 97 Vette. He liked it ALOT! He said it felt much tighter than he expected.
