Is This How Chapman Decided on 'E' for All Models?
Received an e-mail from an old gent who
claims to be a retired Lotus parts securer.
He claims that the reason why Chapman
became enamored with the letter E was
because, one day, while fiddling at his desk he placed four dots, framing the
corners of a square to designate four
wheels. Then he placed a fifth dot, a little bit to the left-upper portion of dead center signifying the driver. When he connected the dots via straight lines, the letter E appeared. P.S. - He also told me that if he hadn'd died, when he did, there
was a good possibility that Chapman would have been indicted with Delorean
during the fiasco involving the bankruptcy
of that gull-wing car.
