Elite

I was talking to the Lotus salesperson today, and he told me that Lotus will come out another model called Elite... It is a coupe, and runs about the same price as the Elise. Does anybody have picture or any info on the Elite?

Elite is a name Lotus has used twice in the past, but I have not heard any rumors about a new car with that name. There are two larger, more expensive cars planned, though a few years out. One is a replacement for the Esprit and may be named that. Another is codenamed M260, which is a follow-on to the still-born M250.

What I suspect the salesperson was refering to is the Exige, which is, basically, an Elise coupe optimized more towards tracking and only a little more expensive than the Elise. The Exige S2 is about to be introduced in Europe and there are a few rumors (wishful thinking?) that it may be introduced in the US at some point. Not likely soon, though IMHO.
