Carrera GT

Dear All,

Off topic, but not too far, I happened to be at Park Place Porsche today to witness the arrival of a beautiful new silver Carrera GT. What a glorious machine! This is the first in Dallas. Two others have been sold, and this one will have a buyer soon.

Alas, at $450,000 MSRP, I doubt that it will see much road time, let alone the track. Curiously, as splendid as that car is, I doubt that it is ten times the car of our little Elise, and I seriously doubt that its owner will enjoy it as much as we will enjoy our Boxster beaters.

It is nice to see these cars in the "flesh." I can hardly wait to see the new Elise demo in May.

If I had that much cash, I would buy 10 Elises and rent a track with 9 of my friends and have a ball.

Neat car, sounds great .
BUT:

911 turbo;
90,360 pounds sterling. 0-62kmh is 4.2 sec. Vmax is 190mph.

911 GT2
126,480 pnds ster. 0-62 in 4.0 sec. Vmax 198mph.

Carrera GT;

330,000 pnds ster. 0-62 in 3.9 sec. Vmax 205mph.

Not much between 'em is there?

Of course, No Enzo owners are brave enough to allow their machine to be tested against the Carrera GT... They know the ferrari will not last the test.:p
