For those of you that follow motorcycle racing’s highest form MotoGP, Valentiono Rossi has parted ways with Honda and will sign with Yamaha.

For those who don’t know, Rossi (and Honda) has dominated MotoGP for the past 3 years. The kid is one of the most talented drivers (on 2 wheels) and will surely be a great addition to the Yamaha GP program.

Being a hard-core Yamaha rider/fan this makes me very happy.

If you don’t know how this relates to the Elise… Yamaha had designed the head for the Toyota 2ZZ-GE engine that powers the US spec.

On a side note on MotoGP and the Elise, one of the newest teams in MotoGP is the Proton team. Proton is the parent company of Lotus. This makes Proton and Yamaha direct competitors. So you’ve got two competitors in one of the fiercest forms of motorsport sharing a bed with the Lotus Elise.
