Texas Motorspeedway

Has anyone tracked either the in-field or the 1.5 oval at Texas Motorspeedway. The Panoz driving school is offering 4 - 30 min sessions for $185.

In-field only is $55.

The infield course is OK. Nothing special but any day at the track is good. The full course which includes the banked Tri oval allows for extreme speeds but also can lead to additional wear and tear on the car. I believe that The Driver's Edge (driving school) no longer uses that facility due to that same reason. With that said get out and enjoy it anyway.

Other options- better options, IMHO, because of the tracks they use- are presented by the local Porsche and BMW clubs.

The Maverick and Hill Country Regions of the Porsche Club as well as the Lone Star Chapter of the BMW Club regularly host driving events at the Motorsport Ranch, just southwest of Fort Worth.

It's more of a drive, but the Lone Star Region of the Porsche Club hosts events at Texas World Speedway near College Station. That track ROCKS.
