SCCA Solo II Classing for 2004

For those of us who like to mash some cones with our cars I'm wondering if the Elise will be classed by the SCCA for 2004 Solo II competition. I'm not sure the actual deadline for classing a car but I would imagine that a car arriving in April / May would be difficult to class (but I guess the SCCA did class the RX-8 for 2003 and it didn't arrive till June ish).

So being that the SCCA has always classed the Lotus in tough company (added with the fact that the car will arrive so late) I will make a prediction that for 2004 the Elise will be placed in ASP. I have talked to many people in the know and ex SEB and that's where they think it will shake out initially. Then after the car has arrived and the SCCA has a chance to evaluate the performance potential of the car it may move to SS or AS (fat chance for AS).

The SEB have recommended that the Elise be classified in SS along with Z06 and GT3. I think that it is now all but official.

So, the big question of the day is: "What is the fattest Hossier that can be squeezed between a stock size wheel and the plastic?"
