so peaceful...

no political threads, no nutjob tinfoil hat wearers, no to-infinity-and-beyond reposts of portuguese barns, underwater lotus, daily driving and "look at my worthless CF trinket".

i love it here.

mods don't even bother to post.
software updates take two days to complete.
i can catch up on new posts in less than 5 seconds per day.

it's like my very own personal blog.

Nice

There are only two mods on the site...myself and gnatster and we've been heavily involved in North American Motoring until now. My friend Mason built most of the content for PSC but has been spending more time on work and his family of late. I have done the custom software development, integration of software products, and layout.

Yes...the software update took two days because I upgraded vBulletin, reintegrated a new version of the portal environment, upgraded the gallery, and added a couple of new things to better present information. I wanted to get it in a pretty stable state before turning it back on to the public.

As for posting, you are what you make of the site. I'm not a fan of politicking on car sites, or cheerleading products or vendors to the point that it alienates other members or visitors. Frankly I prefer my sites to feel more like a community than of a group of people trying to one up one another. I know there isn't the posting here that there is on other sites but I think that if there is interest there can be a good sense of community built here. At a minimum, it's our intent to build out more (and current) informational content on the site that would help the potential Elise owner. Over the coming weeks you'll see more and more of this type of info making it into the site.

Post away...even if, for a while, it feels like your personal blog

Mark

The other moderator speaks....

I'm with you ace, no need to have the same barn finding, tin foil hat wearing, CF bauble buying politicos found so many places these days. I think you'll find over the next few weeks the content becoming more up to date. New features tested and maybe some more traffic. Being a real niche site it will always have the feel of a more personal blog.

if you're going to make an effort to get some traffic to this site, how about enabling the timestamp function so we can "see" when a post was made?

It is enabled. It should be displayed at the top of each post on the left. Let me know if you don't see this for some reason.

IE6.
where the dark gray is on your header, it is white for me, hence the timestamp washout. i think it's the same on my real computer, on which i primarily use IE.

Thanks! I was able to reproduce this and get it fixed. Looks like its been a CSS problem for some time. Thanks for helping me track it down!

The server we are on had some strange database issue that filled up the file system. It took some time to get into the box because of this, kill the processes, and clean up the aftermath. It took a little longer since it was the weekend. Regardless, all should be good now.
