Southern California drive/meet to Palm Springs

From the EliseTalk forum:

So Cal drive/meet in Palm Springs area February 12th, 8am-it ends

Update:

On saturday Feb. 12th, we will be getting up nice and early to hit some beautiful back country roads through the mountains into the desert, ending at Palm Springs. After all these rains, the desert flowers should be in bloom, and the mountains are unusually green. It should be a beautiful day filled with eager new elise owners ready to attack the twisties!

The drive will be approximately 2 hours starting from the Mobil station off the Pala exit at I-15 at 8am (leaving at 8:30). Shinoo Mapleton and Neil Ratnavira know the roads well and are planning a great route. We will pass out the route maps at the gas station. From there we will hit some killer back roads into Temecula, through the east side hwys into Palm Desert area. We will finish at Sherman's Deli and Bakery in Palm Springs for some food and laughs. They have a large parking lot and are eager to have us. ETA at Shermans will be anywhere from 10:30-11:30. Some afternoon plans in the area are also in the works.

This will be a serious drive. It will be long and exciting, filled with everything from open highways to stretch our legs, to super tight twisties that you would think were designed with the elise in mind. Come ready to drive responsibly and we will all have a good time!

Here are the details:
Feb. 12th, 8am

Early lunch at Sherman's Deli in Palm Springs

If you get lost, or feel like meeting up somewhere along the drive, feel free to call mine or Shinoo's cell (assuming we're not preoccupied with driving). PM me for the numbers/

Hope to see you there! Feel free to invite your friends with "other" vehicles

Guys,
What happened today? I sent my Interior Decorator/Color Coordinator to the Springs today to check out the colors of your cars, but she could find any Elises.
???
