Lifespan of AO48Rs

I'm entering my Elise in the One Lap of America this year and I'm curious to know if the A048's would last long enough for the 5,200 miles of driving and the 7 events. I have the Neova 07's on it right now, it doesn't have the sport package. Whatever tire I get I'm going to put them on right before we start the race. Any opinions out there? What tire would you run?

My vote would be no. I think you would be lucky to get the 7 events out of the tires.

Wow. Has anybody ever gotten more than 3,000 miles of aggressive driving out of a set of A048's? I think not.

I'd FedEx a set to the halfway point (or maybe have three sets total?) if you're set on running the tire.

But if you're going to go all out at the track, I'd have sets of A005's on hand... use the A048's for rain.

One set

If I understand the One Lap rules, I believe you have to keep the same set of tires for the entire event. I'm a little scared about this. AD07's then?

I haven't looked at the rules.

If it's one tire, I would look at the European-only Pzero Nero if it's available in the right size. It is a very high-performance tire and lasts well. FWIW, mine really only started to wear at all after 4,000 miles or so (2004 Lamborghini Gallardo) and that included several track events.

Be warned that the US-spec Nero is a completely different tire, different construction, and different compound. You want the Euro-spec Nero that is OE on the Gallardo.

Entered teams can purchase a total of 10 tires per registered vehicle eligible for the rebate (four tires are suggested for pre-event testing with the remaining six tires for use during the event)
