New Wheels(16's&17's)
Hello,
New member with a 2001 V-tech powered Elise looking for a replacement set of rims. I currently have the stock 15's and 16's. I track the car and need a bigger staggered set so i can get real tires. If anyone knows where to get any rims, please let me know.
Thanks,

It looks like you already have the Speedline magnesium wheels. Aside from those, I don't of any other lightweight wheels for the 4x95.25 PCD. What I'd do is get a set of those wheel spacers that change the PCD to 4x100 as that will open you up to a host of wheels, such as Volk Racing which have several lightweight forged monobloc wheels available in various widths in 15" and 16". HTH.

Wheels
Actually i was looking for a set of 16's and 17's. I'm a fan of Hoosier tires and i can get them much easier in 16's and 17's.

There's really no need to go w/ a staggered diameter for the Elise. Staying w/ 16" in the rear will reduce drive wheel weight. If you get the spacers w/ 4x100 PCD, I suggest a 16x7F/16x8R setup and the Volk wheels (CE28n, SE37K, TE37) are all readily available in those sizes in 4x100. If you don't mind waiting a bit for them to make the wheels, you can also custom order the 4x100 PCD for up to 16x9(CE28n) or 16x8.5(TE37, CE28n). A staggered diameter does nothing to increase contact patch...it's just for looks (racier "rake" angle).

4x100 spacers
Hi jsrsx, seems you have some expertise on wheel fitment. I'm not familiar with "PCD" and the specs on the spacers. Perhaps you could clarify. Also, any advice on where to obtain the spacers and Volk wheels. I did a search and there seemed to quite a few sites that came up.
I've got an order in for the Fed Elise with the track suspension, but I supsect more rubber couldn't hurt - particularly when we slip the turbo into the boot:D
Thanks, Paul

piwhitmn: PCD = Pitch Circle Diameter...it basically specifies the number of lug holes and spacing between those holes. The older elises used a 4x95.25 PCD (4lugs w/ 95.35mm spacing between the lug across). The Fed Elise is said to use a 4x100 PCD, which is much more common (basically any honda, small nissan, etc. wheel) so you won't need the spacers...just find a wheel that has a 4x100 PCD and the proper offset.
Like Bill B said, it's awesome if you can afford Fikse (or my personal favorite, Kinesis) wheels, but they do cost a considerable chunk-a-change. And tho they're extremely light for 3piece wheels, they can't match the weight of a forged monoblock.
