I Need Some Help !!!

I've just purchased a 2000 Lotus Elise, and consequently discovered it is without question the most fun you can have on 4 wheels in a road registered vehicle !!! It's a standard vehicle with a modified intake and exhaust - some nice additions. I'm not really interested in turening this car into an abslute asphalt tearer, as my driving record is already under intense scrutiny (thanks to my other "weekend" car - a '79 308 GTS Ferrari ... well, it's not really her fault !!!)

Anyway, my car currently has the standard rim/tyre set-up on it, but I find the offsets make the car look like a bit of a wheel barrow. I'm keen to move the 16" rear wheels to the front, and purchase two 17 x 8s for the rear. Does anyone know if you can actually purchase the original wheel pattern in 17 x 8s ? If this isn't an option, I'd consider simply purchasing spacers for the original wheels/tyres, with offsets that would broaden the track and sit the rims in line with the guards. Does anyone know where I may be able to purchase spacers of the correct width to facilitate this ? Any help would be grealty appreciated !!!

Wow, sounds like a nice problem to have, as most of us are patiently waiting for cars to arrive. Where are you located, that you can buy a road going S1 Elise (UK /Australia)?

As for the wheels… I think moving your rears to the front wont be an option as the offset between the front and rear is quite different. If stagger is your biggest issue I would suggest your easiest option would be just to find a spacer for the front wheels. This would be the cheapest and easiest solution. The other options (if you want all the wheels on the car to match) would be to replace the set with a set that has a wider front wheel. If you can find a set of Exige wheels I believe they will fit and give you the stagger you’d like.

Hope that helps.
